Economic Impact Payment Information

As part of the COVID-related Tax Relief Act of 2020, the federal government has begun issuing a second round of stimulus payments to eligible recipients. Below you will find information on the processing of these payments, along with links to the IRS Coronavirus Tax Relief Information page. 

Direct Deposit

The IRS began issuing automatic deposits on December 29, 2020 and will continue in the days ahead. If you are eligible for this payment and have indicated a preference for direct deposit, your funds will be deposited into the account used when you filed your 2019 tax return and/or the account information used in the previous stimulus payment. To check the status of your payment and to answer any questions you many have, visit this link. You may also access your Morris Bank account information online by logging into your Online Banking account.

Mailed Check

If you did not indicate a preference for direct deposit on your federal tax return from 2019, you will likely receive a check from the US Treasury Department delivered to your mailing address on file with the IRS. To check your status for this payment, you may also visit this link where you will find additional links and FAQs. Mobile Deposit is available for users of the Morris Bank BLUEmobile App (certain restrictions may apply).

Protect Yourself from Fraud

Please be aware of that scamming attempts regarding the IRS stimulus package have increased across the country at this time. As a reminder, neither banks nor the government will ever call, email, or text you to request your account information. It is imperative that you do not provide any personal protected information, including your account information, passwords, access codes, or any other sensitive information to anyone over the phone or by email.
